The second part of his gift (the part that he didn't pick out for himself) hasn't arrived yet so that should be a nice little post-birthday surprise next week. Everyone loves getting packages in the mail, right K?!
Chris wrapped up reading The Lorax to Arwen this morning and filling her 2-month-old ears with the importance of earth friendly behaviors. They started it yesterday, but she decided that eating and napping were more important so the finale was postponed until this morning. Arwen likes to decide what activities she takes part in and generally negotiation is not an option. Nevertheless, I think he had a very good bearthday. Good dinner, good weather, good baby...great day!
The weather this evening has been nice too. So nice that Arwen and I spent some time outside while Papa worked in the garden. Then she watched from her swing as I started some sewing on a new project I have lined up for her. (Yes, we are thankful for the 15 minute breaks we get before she realizes that we've trapped her in the swing!) I'm pretty excited to show off this little homemade number!! I have to get busy on something for Mother's Day too so hopefully I can finish up Project: Arwen this weekend and make a post with the big reveal.
I promise to do better about posting in the future. Since I've been back to work I haven't wanted to do anything in the evenings except hold my sweet girl. And she doesn't really want to let go of Mommy either so everyone's happy. :)
Oh, keep your eyes peeled for the Little Cousin arrival too. My sister's due date was the 20th - Monday - and if the little guy or gal doesn't come over the weekend she's scheduled for an induction on Tuesday morning.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I've read that book to my oldest son a hundred times. It's a nice one.
Happy Birthday to both of your honeys!
Of course everyone loves getting packages in the mail! Excited to hear about Arwen's cousin! Keep us "posted" (so corny, I know)!
Sounds like a perfect day to me!
I know how hard it is to go back to work when you have a precious baby waiting for you at home (or daycare - or whatever). I always felt like I became complete when I picked Oliver up after work. And I really did cherish very baby second. That's one kind of nice thing about being a working mom: you give yourself full license to ignore household chores so that you can concentrate on the baby you've missed all day. It's messy - but nice.
