Sweet Autumn

Delicious Autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns. ~George Eliot

I look forward to this day so very much every year. The leaves are already starting to change around here and daily now I find myself driving through a small pile of droplets on my way out of the drive. It's refreshing.

I'm so glad you're here, Autumn. You make my heart a little lighter and give me strength...

The only problem with Autumn... winter is around the corner.

Hey, I couldn't find an e-mail address to just e-mail you but here ya go=)

My other 2 were sleeping through the night by 8 weeks as well. I use the book "Along the Infant Way" by the Ezzo's or you may have heard it called "Baby Wise"? A great book. I don't do EVERYTHING they suggest but it is a GREAT book to let you know your child's limitations and what they are capable of, keeping in mind that each child is different.

With that in mind, Areyna (our first) needed a little prodding. We "helped" her get past her 3:30am feeding. Her internal clock was stuck there. She'd cry and we'd go in and give her her paci and after 2 days she had slept through that am time her body was stuck on. She was home free after that.

Zeke, our second, pretty much did it on his own by 8 weeks following the rules in the book. Training them that they eat, stay awake and then go to sleep.

Micaiah has been the hardest and, like I said, still gets up if his diaper is super full. He'll eventually grow out of that too as well! With him, he would eat a full meal as well, but I KNEW he could go longer, especially because he was so big=) Just as soon as I feel comfortable and confident that this is the time I intervene. Take your time until you feel like Arwen could go longer. With Cai we started by going in when he'd cry and just re-swaddling him and giving him his paci. He'd then cry for about 20-35 minutes until he'd fall asleep. We did that for about 3 nights. Now if he wakes up we just check his diaper and re-swaddle him and he goes right back to sleep. This morning he slept straight through until 5:50am and his diaper was about to explode. I changed it and put him back to sleep until about 7:30am.

It's worth a try=) Let me know how it goes! (sorry about the essay comment;)
